開發即時閉環式智慧系統導入於輕度認知障礙之精準診斷與治療
Developing a real-time closed-loop intelligent system for precision diagnosis and treatment of mild cognitive impairment
在失智症日益普遍的高齡化社會,如何在失智症前兆輕度認知障礙(Mild Cognitive Impairment, MCI)的預防治療至關重要。非侵入式電刺激,被認為可調節大腦神經活動,提升認知功能的一種方式,然而目前臨床使用多是通用設定,並未以患者實際狀況設定。 因此,本計畫導入閉環式(Closed-loop)架構開發創新閉環式神經電刺激系統,結合可配置腦波儀(Electroencephalography, EEG),發展以大腦動態特徵監控評估MCI的閉環回饋系統經顱直流電刺激(transcranial direct current stimulation, tDCS)治療效能,即時調節神經刺激的時機和強度,以優化治療效果。
本計畫進行包含:
  • MCI診斷檢測及電刺激器治療效果評估(臨床執行/生理資料收集)。
  • MCI生理特徵分析估測系統與閉環電刺激器調控模型開發(資料分析與智慧計算模型建立)。
  • 閉環式智慧EEG-Guided tDCS裝置原型開發。
  • In an aging society where dementia is becoming increasingly prevalent, it is crucial to focus on the prevention and treatment of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), an early sign of dementia. Non-invasive electrical stimulation is considered a method to modulate brain neural activity and enhance cognitive function. However, current clinical treatment often operates in generic settings without considering the individual condition.
    Therefore, this project proposes an innovative closed-loop neurostimulation system that combines configurable electroencephalography (EEG) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). The system monitors and evaluates the efficacy of closed-loop feedback with tDCS by adjusting the timing and intensity of neurostimulation in real-time to optimize therapeutic effects.
    This project includes:
  • Diagnosis and examination for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and the neurostimulation system efficacy assessment for treatment (clinical execution/physiological data collection).
  • Development of the system for analyzing neurophysiological signal features of MCI and constructing a closed-loop electrical stimulation control model (physiological data analysis and model establishment).
  • Prototype an intelligent closed-loop EEG-guided tDCS device for MCI.
